The Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) will be hosting their “Banned Book Readout” in Jacksonville, FL on September 21, 2023 from 5:15-6:45 PM (EST). At this event, ASALH leaders, local, regional, and national activists, educators, legislators, and more will read excerpts from banned books. There will also be distribution of a limited number of banned books. Some of the speakers at the event include: Angela Davis, Angie Nixon, Rodney Hurst, Charlie Cobb, Jr., Paul Ortiz, Ryan Sinclair, and more.
