Research

The National Center for Community Strategies connects clients to research resources, consultation, and education. We have provided support to a diverse group of clients including, but not limited to, community health centers, public health agencies, housing agencies, transportation officials, and economic development agencies. We also work along other clients with consultations about research methods used in public health, evidence-based interventions, and compiling health disparity data.

Evaluation

On behalf of their clients, the National Center for Community Strategies designs quantitative and qualitative data collection tools. We collect and analyze data via needs assessments, satisfaction surveys, focus groups, and literature reviews. The data assists clients in designing, implementing and evaluating programs that will best serve their population. The National Center for Community Strategies helps build the evaluation capacity of community health centers.

Health Promotion and Outreach

The National Center for Community Strategies has helped clients develop patient education materials, monographs, and implement health promotion programs. We present at national, state, and local conferences. Through webinars and newsletters, the National Center for Community Strategies keeps clients up to date on best practices in a variety of fields including medicine and public health. Our team has operated web sites information resources on health and housing for federal agencies as well as local nonprofits. The National Center for Community Strategies library and resource center provides healthcare providers with access to behavioral interventions, community resources, data sheets for healthcare providers and public housing residents, and more.

Technical Assistance

The National Center for Community Strategies has provided training and technical assistance to organizations in a variety of domains, including public health, housing, transportation, and economic development. For example, in order to assist community health centers build capacity for continuous self-assessment, we developed the Health Care Assessment Tool. We help clients identify the unique health needs of their patient populations and identify collaborative partners who can help them meet the need. The National Center for Community Strategies fosters collaboration with experts of all disciplines and with community members, with the ultimate goal of improving the well being of the public.
